The Silent Auction at the May Soirée was a huge success! Thank you to all who participated. We have so many local businesses, organizations, and residents to thank for providing this added fun and support opportunity to the event!! Let’s support them in return. Thank you to all of our donors!
The BEF would like to share another moment of gratitude for ALL of our May Soirée community sponsors! We truly could not have had the successful event that we did without their partnership this year. Once again, both longtime and new supporters joined the BEF to ensure our mission will continue despite the challenges of the past two years. Thank you, sponsors!
This is it, Bedford! The biggest party of the year that supports our schools! We’re back in person after two long years. Even though the Soirée is not exactly the Bash, the BEF always makes it a night to remember with plenty of fun in store. Please read on. This is your chance to help us raise funds to support innovation and creativity in the Bedford Public Schools, don’t miss it!
When and where is the event?
The BEF May Soirée is on Friday, May 6th, from 7:30-10:30. We are excited for our new venue, the Tuscan Kitchen in Burlington. Our space at the TK offers a private indoor dining room, which opens up to a lovely patio and extends to an even larger outdoor terrace area. In addition to being a wonderful restaurant, the BEF was committed to providing both indoor and outdoor space for this event.
How much are tickets and where do I get them?
Tickets are $50 each and can be purchased online on this site – bedfordeducation.org/2022/04/12/may-soiree-tickets-now-on-sale/ (or see post below) through Wednesday, May 4th. You can also purchase a “Soirée Supporter” sponsorship if you so choose for $250, which includes two tickets and a special takeaway from the event. If you don’t buy your tickets by the deadline, tickets will be available for $60 at the door.
When should I buy tickets?
NOW! If you are planning on going, we encourage you to buy tickets now if you haven’t already. It will really help us in planning how much food to provide, AND it saves you money!
What should I wear?
Good question! There are no requirements here. We know it’s hard for folks waiting for a full-on Bash with a real dress-up theme :), but as we are sure everyone understands, nothing could be quite the same this year! Covid and its continuous variants kept us from being able to plan months ahead as well as book a fully indoor venue, which in turn prevented our usual shenanigans. Throw in a venue closure, and here we are! So, wear a Spring dress, a Derby hat, go floral, OR just dress like you are meeting friends for drinks at a restaurant (where you might be outside). ANYTHING GOES – it’s just a party! Trust us, a good time will be had by all no matter what you are wearing!
Will I need cash?
The bar accepts cash as well as credit cards. For door tickets, as well as our fabulous Silent Auction, the BEF will accept cash, check, and all major credit cards.
Will there be food?
Yes! We will provide a selection of stationary and passed appetizers throughout the evening. We are excited for the food to be an upgrade at the TK!
Will there be music?
There is no DJ or official dancefloor at the TK space, BUT we have created a great playlist to pump through the sound system at the venue. What happens from there, we shall see.
Do I have to be a Bedford resident to attend?
No. If you have friends and family who are interested in a fun night out and supporting our schools, bring them along. The more the merrier!
Is this a family event?
No. This event is adults-only.
What are you raising funds for anyway?
Great question! The Bedford Education Foundation, established in 2008, provides grants to support innovation and creativity at all four of Bedford’s Public Schools. This is our biggest fundraiser of the year, so we need YOUR HELP to continue being able to support such wonderful grant programs. Find out more about us atbedfordeducation.org.
What if I can’t go to the Soirée, but I’d still like to support the BEF?
Thanks! You can make a tax-deductible donation to the Bedford Education Foundationhere.
I have a question about your event. Who should I contact?
Send an email to BEF President Jen Kelley at president@bedfordeducation.org and she will be happy to answer any questions.
Ticket sales start today for the BEF May Soirée! The event takes place on Friday, May 6th, from 7:30-10:30 pm. Tickets are $50 each on-line through Wednesday, May 4th. After that, they will only be available at the door for $60. This year, we are once again offering a special sponsorship, for individuals and families only, who would like to offer additional support. With a donation of $250, you can become a “Soirée Supporter”. This sponsorship includes two tickets to the event, recognition at the soirée, as well as a special souvenir just for Soirée Supporters. The links for both options are below! Any questions, please email us at president@bedfordeducation.org. We can’t wait to see you there!
The BEF is excited to announce that we have been able to relocate the May Soirée! We have been committed to finding another indoor/outdoor venue and are thrilled that our neighbors at the Tuscan Kitchen in Burlington could accommodate us on our May 6th date! So mark those calendars again, folks, because we are SO ready for some fun for a great cause. The BEF will not be denied! More details coming soon!
We are beyond disappointed to have to share this news, but due to a permanent closure of our planned venue, the BEF May Soirée will not be taking place on May 6th at the DoubleTree Hotel. We have been working over the past few days to investigate other possibilities, but we do not have a definitive announcement at this time. We know you were as excited as we were about this event, and we hope to be in touch soon. Thank you for your support and understanding.
Thank you, Bedford, for making the BEF Bingo Night a huge success! What a fun evening, it was so great to see you all! The BEF would especially like to thank the many wonderful local businesses who donated prizes for the event. Please consider supporting them as they have supported Bedford’s educators and students during these difficult times. We were able to offer so many great prizes to add to the fun of the event, and we can’t thank them enough for their generosity!
You don’t want to miss this fun night to support innovative and creative grant programs in Bedford’s schools! Our educators have worked tirelessly this year to provide the best possible education for our students, and the BEF will continue to be there for them, BUT we can’t do it without your help!
As always, we have a lot of fun planned! Simply click the “Donate” tab above to register – donate $10 per Bingo card, and note in the comments how many you would like. If any family members will play in a different location, they should be registered separately so that we have their email. Once registered, you will receive an email on FRIDAY with your cards and a link to the Zoom for the event. This email will include further instructions for play.
WEAR YOUR BEDFORD-THEMED GEAR for some extra fun! There will be a prize FOR “Best Dressed”!
Please make sure to note “Bingo cards” with the appropriate number in the comment section of the donation page.
We thank our community, as always, for your support of the BEF during these challenging times. We hope you will join us for this fun event as we look forward to raising more funds and reinstating our typical grant programming during 2021. We have been able to assist with some wonderful initiatives in our schools this year, despite Covid, and we could not continue our mission without your help! Thank you, Bedford!
