This is it, Bedford! The biggest party of the year that supports our schools! We’re back in person after two long years. Even though the Soirée is not exactly the Bash, the BEF always makes it a night to remember with plenty of fun in store. Please read on. This is your chance to help us raise funds to support innovation and creativity in the Bedford Public Schools, don’t miss it!
When and where is the event?
The BEF May Soirée is on Friday, May 6th, from 7:30-10:30. We are excited for our new venue, the Tuscan Kitchen in Burlington. Our space at the TK offers a private indoor dining room, which opens up to a lovely patio and extends to an even larger outdoor terrace area. In addition to being a wonderful restaurant, the BEF was committed to providing both indoor and outdoor space for this event.
How much are tickets and where do I get them?
Tickets are $50 each and can be purchased online on this site – bedfordeducation.org/2022/04/12/may-soiree-tickets-now-on-sale/ (or see post below) through Wednesday, May 4th. You can also purchase a “Soirée Supporter” sponsorship if you so choose for $250, which includes two tickets and a special takeaway from the event. If you don’t buy your tickets by the deadline, tickets will be available for $60 at the door.
When should I buy tickets?
NOW! If you are planning on going, we encourage you to buy tickets now if you haven’t already. It will really help us in planning how much food to provide, AND it saves you money!
What should I wear?
Good question! There are no requirements here. We know it’s hard for folks waiting for a full-on Bash with a real dress-up theme :), but as we are sure everyone understands, nothing could be quite the same this year! Covid and its continuous variants kept us from being able to plan months ahead as well as book a fully indoor venue, which in turn prevented our usual shenanigans. Throw in a venue closure, and here we are! So, wear a Spring dress, a Derby hat, go floral, OR just dress like you are meeting friends for drinks at a restaurant (where you might be outside). ANYTHING GOES – it’s just a party! Trust us, a good time will be had by all no matter what you are wearing!
Will I need cash?
The bar accepts cash as well as credit cards. For door tickets, as well as our fabulous Silent Auction, the BEF will accept cash, check, and all major credit cards.
Will there be food?
Yes! We will provide a selection of stationary and passed appetizers throughout the evening. We are excited for the food to be an upgrade at the TK!
Will there be music?
There is no DJ or official dancefloor at the TK space, BUT we have created a great playlist to pump through the sound system at the venue. What happens from there, we shall see.
Do I have to be a Bedford resident to attend?
No. If you have friends and family who are interested in a fun night out and supporting our schools, bring them along. The more the merrier!
Is this a family event?
No. This event is adults-only.
What are you raising funds for anyway?
Great question! The Bedford Education Foundation, established in 2008, provides grants to support innovation and creativity at all four of Bedford’s Public Schools. This is our biggest fundraiser of the year, so we need YOUR HELP to continue being able to support such wonderful grant programs. Find out more about us at bedfordeducation.org.
What if I can’t go to the Soirée, but I’d still like to support the BEF?
Thanks! You can make a tax-deductible donation to the Bedford Education Foundation here.
I have a question about your event. Who should I contact?
Send an email to BEF President Jen Kelley at president@bedfordeducation.org and she will be happy to answer any questions.
We hope to see you there!
